DISCOVER THOMAS

Thomas Constantine Zachos wants nothing more than to inspire the world to see those battling adversity for who they are; he also wants those doing the fighting to be boldly courageous and hopeful in their abilities to overcome anything thrown their way.

Thomas has always been very athletic and avidly passionate about sports. As a boy with many athletic dreams, finding out from the doctors that he was one in ten with a rare degenerative disease and one in five thousand with a mitochondrial disease became the most difficult battle he would ever face. Yet, to this day, it has never stopped him. Dreams transform, and so do people.

Since his diagnosis in 2017, Thomas has been sharing his journey with others online. With the help of his family, he created the first Canadian Research Chair for mitochondrial disease at the University of Toronto. Thomas designed and sold sweatshirts to fundraise for MITO2i, a medical research initiative for grassroots mitochondrial research. In doing so, he raised tens of thousands of dollars. Thomas has also written and self-published a children’s book called, Superheroes Like Me, that has made its way into mainstream retailers such as Amazon and Chapters & Indigo.

Superheroes Like Me, was written to demonstrate that one can achieve anything–hardship doesn’t have to hold you back. Thomas is known by the people around him not as a victim but as the face or epitome of intrepidity: the quality of being purposefully fearless and boldly courageous in all he does.

Thomas & Co. is another way for him to inspire others to be the same, if not better. His brand speaks of his journey: a long and winding road that leads to a mountaintop. Thomas hopes that one day, his brand will signify intrepidity, perseverance, achievement, and hope. When you wear his clothes, he wants you to feel comfortable in your skin and walk your desired path with utmost courage, not fear, for life is too short not to achieve all that he knows you are capable of.
